A family friendly day designed to stoke the bike season ahead!

Stoke the Season is taking place in two locations.

Dufferin Park

12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Trail Work Sessions (at the Kids Zone Trails) from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Thompson Rivers University

3:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.

  • Intro to Trail Riding Bike Lessons

  • Kal-Tire BBQ and Food

  • Vendors and Community Showcase

  • Bike Rodeo and Mini Competitions

  • Showing of “The Ritual” Movie at the Alumni Theatre, Clock Tower Building - Make sure to grab a ticket - only 200 seats!

the City Of Kamloops will have their bike valet set up and run by the Kamloops Cycling coalition so your bike will be safe while you check out vendors and watch the movie!

However, we encourage participants to make cash donations in support of our wonderful partners: Kamloops Bike Riders Association (KBRA), Kamloops Cycling Coalition (KCC) with Transition Kamloops, and Kamloops Performance Cycling Centre (KPCC). As a bonus, the more you donate the better your chances of winning our raffle! For each $10 donated, you will receive an extra raffle ticket for some awesome prizes.

Additionally, we are partnering with the Kamloops Food Bank to collect non-perishable food items.

Bike Lessons

3:30pm - 5:30pm


Want to learn some basics about riding trails? Join Adventuring Into Life for a free 35 minute mini lesson. The session will go over 4 basic skills that you need to get started on trails! There will be lessons for youth age 6 and up, as well as adult lessons. Please book in ahead of time.

  • These mini lessons are for people who already know how to ride a bike on pavement and want to ride trails.

  • Don’t have a bike? Adventuring Into Life in partnership with District Bike shop have a couple available - please note - there are a very limited quantity so please ask when you book in for your lesson

Trail work session

12:30pm - 2:30pm


Location - Dufferin Kids Zone Trails!

Hosted by Kamloops Bike Riders Association (KBRA) - come learn some basic trail maintenance skills - or if you are a seasoned pro, come get some trail karma by helping dig on the Dufferin Trails. These trails are vital to many local coaching organizations and the KBRA kids league. Let’s work together to get them ready for bike season!

BBQ and Food

3:30pm to 7:00pm


Grab dinner at the BBQ hosted by Kal-Tire in partnership with Save on Foods. Then get ready for the movie with some popcorn provided by Natures Fare.

Vendors and community showcase

3:30pm to 7:30pm


Kamloops is a biking hub! We are excited to showcase not only the biking specific shops, but other shops that can support your ride as well as some incredible community organizations that add to the stoke!

  • RCMP will be on site for locals to get their bikes registered

  • People in Motion will be showcasing their adaptive bikes to help biking become accessible for all

  • Plus so many more incredible organizations that you might not know about!

Bike Rodeo and mini competitions

3:45pm to 7:00pm


This whole day is meant to bring families out for fun! So don’t miss out on the games! There will be games for all ages. Some on bike, some off. There will be prizes, laughs and good times. Each “competition” will have a sign up sheet, don’t miss out on your chance for some sweet prizes! It’s not always the winner that gets a prize either, so no excuses not to join in on the fun!

Bike Movie at clock tower theatre

7:30pm to 9:00pm


Come check out “The Ritual Mountain Bike Film Tour” to get you Stoked for the Season! During the movie there will be an intermission for prizes, so don’t leave early! Worried about your bike? No problem! The City of Kamloops bike valet will be on site and managed by the volunteers over at Kamloops Cycling Coalition so you know your bike is in good hands. GET YOUR TICKET!
